Job Summary
Provide quality instruction aligned to state and national standards for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Field Elementary. Employ diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies to inform instructional decisions and support student self-management of learning. Collaborate with peers to plan and implement best practices, collaborate with families to support learning, and participate in ongoing professional development. May contribute to campus STEM initiatives to ensure integrated instruction across disciplines. Duties include managing classroom environments that are safe, respectful, and engaging; delivering curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning, and problem solving; and aligning instruction with Minnesota standards and district goals. Requires a valid Minnesota teaching license for Learning Disabilities, Emotional Behavioral Disabilities, or Academic and Behavioral Strategist, or pending licensure; Bachelor's degree required with Master's or PhD preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Minnesota teaching license; or proof of pending approved licensure
- Prior successful student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural education setting
- Master's or PhD preferred
