Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for grades 9-12 in Lowell Public Schools. Responsibilities include staying up-to-date with curriculum, planning and assessing instruction, monitoring student understanding, creating a positive learning environment, maintaining appropriate behavior and safety standards, communicating learning goals and high expectations, employing effective instructional and questioning techniques, evaluating and refining instructional strategies with technology to boost student learning, promoting equity and student responsibility, collaborating with parents and colleagues, and complying with policies, contracts, and laws. Requires Massachusetts teacher certification and a Bachelor’s Degree; SEI endorsement/ESL licensure preferred. Salary per the applicable collective bargaining agreement; internal transfer eligibility noted for start of 2026-2027 school year. Internal transfer applicants only until June 4, 2026; external candidates considered thereafter.
Required Qualifications
- Certification valid for service as a teacher in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with appropriate age group
- SEI endorsement/ESL licensure preferred
