Job Summary
Special Education Teacher with K-6 certification or related content certification (Students with Disabilities) to support elementary learners. Responsibilities include applying knowledge of NJSLS/NJSLA, employing effective instructional practices, analyzing data to drive instruction, and communicating with staff, students, parents, and the community. Must be proficient with interactive instructional software and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and collaboration in a Paterson Public Schools setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold New Jersey Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-6 certificate, or other appropriate content certification for position with a Students with Disabilities certificate
- Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA
- Effective instructional practices and strategies
- Ability to analyze and use data to drive instruction
- Experience working with elementary students
- Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character
- Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others
- Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community
- Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
