Job Summary
Middle School Social Studies Teacher responsible for delivering standards-based instruction, creating and delivering lesson plans, assessing student progress, differentiating instruction, supervising students in classroom and campus activities, collaborating with teachers and administrators, communicating with parents/guardians regarding student progress, directing para-professionals/volunteers, and organizing field trips and technology-enhanced learning experiences. The role requires collaboration within PLCs, adherence to district and state guidelines, and maintaining appropriate records and confidentiality; and fulfilling responsibilities such as classroom management, preparing written materials, and responding to emergencies as part of a safe and effective learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a job-related area
- Missouri State Teaching Certificate
- Experience in differentiating instruction and managing classroom environments
- Ability to develop lesson plans aligned with curriculum
- Strong communication with parents/guardians
- Experience in data analysis and using assessments to guide instruction
- Ability to supervise para-professionals and volunteers
- Knowledge of algebra/geometry and age-appropriate activities
- Flexibility to work with diverse groups
- Exempt status or equivalent credential in teaching
