Job Summary
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests. Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guides learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons, units, projects, and the like. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media aligned with the district’s philosophy and instructional goals. Assesses student progress regularly and provides reports as required. Diagnoses learning abilities with district specialist as required. Maintains records as required by law and policy. Supports administration in implementing policies governing student life and classroom conduct. Plans for outside-of-instructional availability to students and parents. Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides/volunteers and collaborates with department heads on performance evaluation. Maintains professional competence, attends staff meetings, and may serve on staff committees. Supports CORE Literacy initiative and WOW. Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate, license, or other legal credential required
- Degree(s) required in area of major study
