Job Summary
Teach social studies, history, geography, American Government, political science, or humanities to Middle and High School students using state competencies and bilingual curriculum; instruct pupils in citizenship and expected behavior; develop a balanced social studies program with current-events discussion; provide individual and small-group instruction to accommodate varied abilities and backgrounds; develop knowledge of American government and economic systems and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship; expose students to current media materials and facilitate discussions; foster understanding of contributions of racial, religious, and political groups to American culture; promote understanding of global political and economic systems; encourage critical thinking about local, state, national, and world problems; maintain classroom standards and engage in curriculum development, including a bilingual program, to support student improvement; coordinate with parents and may arrange resource speakers and field trips.
Required Qualifications
- Properly certified in area(s) of assignment
- Bilingual Endorsement is highly preferable.
