Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning that fulfill district curriculum requirements while accommodating individual student differences. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology to reflect understanding of diverse learning styles and needs. Conduct assessments of student learning styles and provide timely feedback through formal and informal methods to track progress. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with Individual Education Plans and direct the work of assigned instructional aides. Create an inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, and assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning
- Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology
- Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with student, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
