Job Summary
Deliver effective secondary English instruction using the Danielson Rubric and Tripod 7 Cs to ensure scholars are academically and socially ready for college or career. Develop detailed lesson plans, administer assessments, and provide targeted interventions for diverse learners, including those with special needs. Collaborate with special education staff on IEPs, manage classroom behavior, and engage parents through regular communication and conferences. Contribute to professional development, staff meetings, and community service while maintaining a positive learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Current appropriate Michigan teaching certification
- Demonstrated understanding of current research as to how children learn
- Ability to motivate scholar to perform at their best
- Ability to work in an economically, culturally, and racially diverse environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and in writing
- Ability to differentiate instruction, by using a variety of styles
- Ability to inspire mixed culture and ability classes by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all scholars
- Ability to participate as a member of the team
- Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload
- Consistently demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality
- Regular on time and in person attendance
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment)
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus
