Job Summary
Develop and implement curriculum plans while preparing lessons that accommodate individual student differences. Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines and employ varied instructional techniques and media. Assess student accomplishments regularly, provide progress reports, and supervise extracurricular activities as assigned. Create a conducive classroom environment, administer discipline, and maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues. Participate in faculty meetings, staff committees, and district professional development programs. Comply with all state, district, and school regulations and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through a TEA approved Teacher Certification Program
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress
- Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Color vision
- Ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to sit
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to move throughout the room and/or facility
- Must be able to communicate verbally and electronically
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls

- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to work after school and weekends
- Occasionally required to travel to facilities within the district
