Job Summary
TEACHER, SCIENCE (EARTH AND SPACE) for the 2026-2027 school year at Phoenix Union High School District. Responsible for creating a safe, intellectually challenging learning environment with active student engagement, applying knowledge of adolescent development and science content to educate a diverse student population. Designs and delivers instruction using varied methods and resources, maintains a positive learning environment, assesses student learning through formal and informal methods, maintains required records, communicates progress with parents, and collaborates with colleagues, parents, community, and other agencies to foster student learning. Requires an Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate and a Bachelor's degree, with awareness of student needs and EEIE training (or availability for staff development). Required Qualifications
- Possess an Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate.
- Possess a Bachelors degree.
- Have an awareness of student needs; i.e., at-risk, ethnic, limited English proficient, exceptional.
- Have an Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or make themselves available to staff development.
