Job Summary
Teacher for Science in grades 6-9 within Henderson County Public Schools. Responsibilities include planning and delivering instructional programs, developing and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet diverse student needs, maintaining appropriate records, and following required procedures. Requires a valid NC Teaching License (or eligibility), a bachelor’s degree in an approved education program, and strong knowledge of secondary science pedagogy, classroom management, and communication with students, parents, and staff. Preferred National Board Certification. The role emphasizes planning a program of study to meet the needs of all students, delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance learning opportunities. Work schedule is 10 months, 8 hours per day, with permanent full-time status and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NC Teaching License or eligibility to obtain NC Teaching License
- Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject area
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
