Job Summary
Teach Science to students, guiding learning in alignment with district curriculum; implement instructional strategies to promote student growth; assess and use results to plan instruction; collaborate with teachers to adapt curricula for special education, 504, ELL, and GT students; support extracurricular activities as assigned; integrate technology into teaching and learn to utilize data to drive improvements; maintain professional communication with colleagues, students, parents, and the community; manage classroom and uphold school policies; supervise teacher aides and volunteers as needed; participate in professional development to stay current in the profession.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas certificate for the subject and level assigned
- Experience: at least one year student teaching or approved internship
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
- Openness to change and innovation to meet the needs of all students
