High School Counselor role focusing on academic advising, college and career planning, and social-emotional support; responsibilities include delivering counseling curriculum, providing short-term counseling, data-driven progress monitoring, postsecondary planning, family outreach, and collaboration with staff and community to promote equity and access; requires MA DESE School Counselor Licensure for Grades 5-12 and a master’s degree in school counseling or equivalent, with urban education experience and Spanish speaking preferred.
Required Qualifications
- MA DESE School Counselor Licensure, Grades 5-12
- Hold a master’s degree or higher in school counseling or the substantial equivalent
- Experience working in an urban educational setting
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Has working knowledge of ASCA and MASCA frameworks and standards
- Experience in a collaborative educational environment and shared decision-making modeled on Professional Learning Communities is highly desirable.
