Job Summary
Facilitate and implement individual and group activities to support children's social, physical, and intellectual development while planning, assessing, and developing responsive curriculum tailored to each child's needs. Provide diapering, dressing, and personal care for toddlers in a clean, hygienic environment, and collaborate with co-teachers to maintain a safe space that encourages exploration. Complete educational assessments, maintain accurate records including anecdotal notes and data entry into systems like Child Plus, and ensure inclusion for children with Individual Family Development Plans. Actively promote parent engagement through home visits, conferences, and daily communication to support families as primary educators. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM in a full-time, non-exempt role at St. Anne's Family Services, where you will contribute to an Early Head Start and Head Start program serving children ages birth to five.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate of Arts (AA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field required
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience as a student intern, tutor, or instructional assistant working in an educational setting with pre-elementary school children is strongly preferred
- A minimum of 3 Infant/Toddler Development course units, preferred
- California Teaching Commission Child Development Associate Teacher permit preferred
- Bilingual English, Spanish, Korean and/or Tagalog preferred
