Job Summary
Assist children in various classrooms with instructional tasks as assigned by the principal and support classroom management to ensure a safe, effective learning environment. Maintain appropriate classroom activities and student safety while complying with all school policies, health procedures, and ethical standards regarding student confidentiality. Provide coverage and support as needed to foster student success. This 9-month position reports to the principal or assistant principal in a classroom setting, with physical requirements including sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Health insurance is included and may be waived for additional salary.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or G.E.D.
- completed 2 years of post-secondary education (48 hours) OR an Associate's Degree or higher OR have passed the formal State Assessment Test (OGET) OR have passed the ParaPro Assessment Test
- Must be able to lift objects
- Must be able to sit
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to walk
- Must be able to bend
Desired Qualifications
- Substitute teaching or teaching assistance experience
- Evidence of, or willingness to, progress in instructional training opportunities
