Job Summary
Teacher's Assistant needed at KULA's early intervention day treatment clinic to support children with special needs. Responsibilities include helping create an engaging classroom environment and supporting development of cognitive, social-emotional, and motor skills throughout the day. Works within a multidisciplinary team that includes licensed therapists and nurses to ensure individualized care; supports families and implements activities aligned with therapy services and developmental goals. Requires effective communication, strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and comfort working with children birth to age 18 and their families.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CDA preferred
- Experience in classroom setting with developmentally at-risk children or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
- Ability to work with children birth to age 18 and families at risk
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Basic computer skills (database, word processing, spreadsheet, Internet software)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
- Mathematical ability to perform basic arithmetic
- Ability to follow written or oral instructions
