Job Summary

Conduct classroom instruction support and supervise student activities, including playground and lunch duties. Assist teachers with curriculum preparation, Luiseño language instruction, and individualized learning reinforcement. Manage student behavior, maintain instructional equipment, and participate in school events and field trips. Coordinate daily duties with classroom teachers to align instructional efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years experience working with school age children
  • Working knowledge of various office equipment including, copier and laminator
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to physically interact with active school age children
  • Current certification in child and infant CPR
  • Compliance with the Pechanga Tribal Government Policies and Procedures
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation
  • Must adhere to all policies and procedures of the Chámmakilawish School and Pechanga Tribal Government
  • Must be of good character, patient, personable
  • Must be a positive role model
  • Must be able to speak the English language, speak clearly so listeners can understand and understand the speech of another person
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
  • Ability to speak with others and convey information effectively
  • Ability to be aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to see the differences between colors, shades and brightness and be able to see details that are less than a few feet away
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, feel or grasp objects; and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally stand on step ladders
  • Ability to sit
  • Ability to talk or hear
  • Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical equipment
  • Ability to speak Luiseño language and culture

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with coursework in childhood development
