Job Summary
Facilitate study hall sessions and provide individualized homework assistance to clients during evening hours under the direction of certified teachers. Implement homework plans to encourage mastery of subject matter, reinforce skills, and remediate challenging concepts while providing direct supervision of client behavior. Review biopsychosocial assessments, Individual Education Plans, and treatment plans to support each client's functional ability level. Contribute to care planning by reporting client participation and responses to educational interventions, and assist in grading and reporting academic progress. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean school environment while ensuring confidentiality of protected health and special education information. Participate in staff training as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Work Keys testing
- at least 2 years undergraduate degree
- Must be 21+
- High School Diploma/GED
- valid Alabama Driver License
- ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts
- articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization
- excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- basic knowledge of the laws, regulations, and standards related to the provision of behavioral health care and special education services
- classroom behavior management skills
- Proficient in the English language
- ability to read agency regulations
- ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from staff, clients, and family members
- ability to adapt communications to clients' level of functioning
- Ability to utilize basic mathematics skills
- Ability to utilize statistical processes related to student evaluation systems
