Job Summary
PSR Teacher/Catechist provides religious education and faith formation to children and youth in parish program. Responsibilities include teaching weekly PSR classes with approved curriculum, preparing age-appropriate lessons, integrating Scripture, prayer, Catholic doctrine, and Church traditions, and helping students prepare for sacraments (First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation). Maintain attendance and classroom records, communicate with parents, participate in catechist trainings and parish events, and foster a safe, welcoming classroom environment while encouraging participation in Mass and parish life. Requires practicing Catholic in good standing; completion of Safe Environment training and background check; knowledge of Catholic teachings and sacraments; strong communication/organizational skills; ability to work with children and families.
