Job Summary
Prekindergarten instructional position (full-time) at Pasco K-8 in Dade City, FL. Responsible for providing responsive care, an organized learning environment, and teaching aligned with Head Start and state standards, including children with disabilities. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field, Florida Educator’s certificate, and completion of required literacy and safety trainings. 196 instructional days per year with benefits; may involve potential additional compensation for teaching an extra period. Preference given to candidates with Reading Endorsement and willingness to earn endorsement; undergo background screening. Share of duties includes delivering effective teaching, promoting school readiness skills, and meeting district and state expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Early Childhood Education/Child Development OR Bachelor's degree with coursework equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education/Child Development OR Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
- One year of experience teaching preschool-aged children
- Florida Educator’s certificate in Early Childhood Education/Prekindergarten/Primary or Preschool Education
- Completion of 15-hours of state-required Emergent Literacy Course and Implementing the Florida Standards in Preschool Classrooms (3 Years Old to Kindergarten) OR Completion of Reading Endorsement Competency I and Implementing the Florida Standards in Preschool Classrooms (3 Years Old to Kindergarten)
- Satisfactory completion of First Aid and CPR for infants and toddlers within 3 months of hire
- All hires must meet background screening requirements
