Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while accommodating diverse student learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to guide instructional activities. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and supervise assigned teacher aides. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans and establish open communication with parents and staff. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process and participate in staff development activities. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, and community members while demonstrating principles of the Manor ISD People Experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required within 60 days of hire
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
