Job Summary
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate English lessons via online synchronous and asynchronous environments while differentiating instruction and implementing IEP accommodations. Serve as an academic advisor for an assigned caseload, communicating regularly with students and parents, and maintain high course standards by adjusting lessons and assessments. Gather resources to incorporate state standards, schedule virtual office hours, and monitor attendance and assessment data to inform instructional decisions. Provide timely feedback to support content mastery goals and participate in proctoring state-mandated testing, field trips, and community outreach events. Collaborate with department peers to ensure effective instructional strategies and maintain accurate records in the Student Information System.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification - English 7-12
- Eligible for a Pennsylvania driver's license at time of hire
- Current clearances as required by the PA Department of Education: Copy of Act 33(PA Child Abuse History)
- Current clearances as required by the PA Department of Education: Copy of Act 34(PA Criminal Background Check)
- Current clearances as required by the PA Department of Education: Copy of Act 114 (FBI Fingerprinting Background Check)
- Copies of Act 168 (Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release) forms from prior employers
Desired Qualifications
- Prior 7-12 teaching experience delivering core content curriculum is desirable
- Master's in Education or related field of study
- 2+ years of experience teaching in virtual/cyber education environments
- Google Educator Level 1 or Level 2 certification
- Special Education certification
- Online Teaching Certification or Endorsement
