Job Summary
Elementary school PE teacher to implement district-approved curriculum and foster an environment conducive to learning. Responsibilities include teaching citizenship and district-mandated subjects, developing lesson plans, providing individualized and small group instruction, translating plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences, communicating with parents, maintaining pupil behavior standards, evaluating academic and social growth, preparing progress reports, identifying pupil needs, planning with paraprofessionals and volunteers, and creating engaging displays of student work. Requires Bachelor of Arts degree and a valid New Mexico teaching license; 40-hour work week on a full-time contract for the August 5, 2025 to May 29, 2026 period. Strong emphasis on collaboration with parents, staff, and inclusion of diverse learners in a structured elementary setting. Requires ability to interpret regulations and effectively communicate with administrators, staff, and families.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts degree
- Teacher License from the New Mexico Public Education Department
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff and the general public
