Job Summary
Collaborate with the Head Teacher and families to plan and implement the Head Start educational program for preschool children; assist in daily classroom operations, prepare the learning environment, supervise children and ensure safety; support development of activities and experiences that promote children’s interests and skill-building; assist in developmental screenings; contribute to family engagement and male involvement activities; participate in home visits and parent/teacher conferences when requested; requires background check, drug test, and physical; strong emphasis on professional development and opportunities within a high-quality Head Start program.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with a CDA or equivalent; or agreement to enroll in a CORS approved and paid CDA program and complete CDA within two years of start date
- Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Background check, drug test, and physical required
- Valid driver’s license and driving history acceptable to agency insurer
- Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, bend, and reach
