Job Summary
Conduct math intervention instruction for students requiring additional academic support, developing and delivering lessons aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Administer state-mandated testing and analyze data to address individual student needs, while collaborating with staff on Response to Intervention and Language Proficiency Assessment Committee initiatives. Manage classroom behavior through Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress. Submit lesson plans, grades, and reports per district policy, and participate in faculty meetings and campus improvement plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- ESL Supplemental certification
- Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) for assigned area
- Knowledge of curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and refinement
- Knowledge of effective instruction and evaluation methodologies
- Knowledge of continuous improvement process
- Skill in using technology as a learning tool in all content areas
- Skill in engaging others in collective inquiry and problem-solving
- Skill in collecting, analyzing, and using data to support student learning
- Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices
- Ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
