Job Summary
Conduct daily instruction and supervise students in a safe, orderly learning environment while implementing activities aligned with the prescribed curriculum. Assess student achievement levels, analyze test results, and prescribe actions for improvement based on current educational research. Apply varied teaching methods to address diverse learning styles and maintain appropriate communication with students, parents, and administrators. Requires a Florida state certification and a Bachelor's degree.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Certified by the State of Florida in the appropriate area
- Knowledge of child development
- Knowledge of characteristics of children in the age group assigned
- Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum
- Knowledge of current educational research
- Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology
- Knowledge of learning styles
- Skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles
- Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others
- Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness
- Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement
- Ability to analyze test results
- Ability to prescribe actions for improvement
- Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision
- Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators and others
