Job Summary
Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments (VI) in school-based settings across Texas. Responsibilities include conducting assessments to identify strengths and needs, delivering individualized instruction, adapting instructional materials into accessible formats (e.g., Braille, large print, and assistive technology), supporting IEP goals and accommodations, collaborating with teachers and multidisciplinary teams, consulting with families, fostering independence and functional skills, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certification
- Certification as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (VI/TVI)
- Knowledge of assessment tools for evaluating visual functioning
