Job Summary
Provide direct and consultative vision services to students with visual impairments. Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's unique needs. Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments, as appropriate. Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student success. Teach compensatory skills, assistive technology, orientation to educational materials, Braille instruction, and other expanded core curriculum areas. Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with state and district requirements. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. This part-time role offers competitive hourly compensation, weekly direct deposit, and flexible scheduling for a dedicated recruiter and clinical support team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Illinois endorsement/licensure as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI), or eligibility to obtain
