Job Summary

Provide direct instructional support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support accessibility and inclusion, support IEP/ARD processes and accommodations, collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams, assist students in participating in classroom instruction, support communication development using spoken language and/or sign language, utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment as needed, and maintain accurate documentation. Responsibilities include conducting assessments to identify strengths and needs, aligning instruction with IEP goals, and participating in ARD/IEP meetings to contribute recommendations. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Auditory Impairments; experience with hearing loss and sign language is a plus; opportunities to serve Pre-K through High School in Dallas and across Texas with flexible full-time or part-time placements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Auditory Impairments
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with hearing loss
  • Understanding of IEP processes and special education services
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school teams and families
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
