Job Summary
Teacher of Children with Visual Impairments to serve infants and toddlers (birth to age three) with blindness or visual impairments in South King County, collaborating with ESIT teams, families, and community partners to deliver individualized vision services, conduct functional vision assessments, contribute to IFSP development, provide consultation on best practices for serving children with visual impairments (including CVI), support transitions to preschool, utilize technology and remote consultation when appropriate, and maintain timely documentation and progress reporting while participating in training and program quality improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or related field with endorsement as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate
- Minimum of five years of experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience providing services to infants and toddlers with visual impairments and their families
- Knowledge of ESIT/Part C regulations and early intervention best practices
- Ability to pass Washington State and federal background checks
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and current automobile insurance
- Access to a dependable personal vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
