Job Summary
TEACHER, MUSIC (CHORAL) responsibilities include meeting and instructing assigned classes in the designated location and times, planning a program of study tailored to students' needs, creating a conducive classroom environment, preparing and providing written evidence of preparation, encouraging and maintaining classroom behavior standards, guiding students toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons and projects, employing varied instructional techniques and media aligned with the district's philosophy and goals, regularly assessing student progress and providing reports, diagnosing learning abilities with district support as needed, protecting students and school property, maintaining accurate records, assisting administration with policies and classroom rules, being available to students and parents outside instructional hours, coordinating with teacher aides/volunteers and evaluating their performance, maintaining professional competence, attending staff meetings and serving on committees, supporting CORE Literacy and WOW initiatives, and performing related duties as assigned. Performance will be evaluated per district policy, with a salary range of $47,245 to $78,470 annually. Location(s): Jackson, Mississippi. Days employed: 190 per school year. Exempt position.
