Job Summary
Teach middle school social studies (grades 5-9) with a focus on delivering standards-aligned instruction, planning a program of study that meets individual student needs, maintaining accurate records, supervising teacher aides/volunteers, and collaborating with department staff. Responsibilities include creating a conducive classroom environment, assessing student progress, implementing district policies, communicating with students and parents, and attending staff meetings and committees. Requires strong knowledge of subject content, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to devote additional hours for grading and lesson planning. Bachelor’s degree required; must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area.
