Job Summary
Middle School Special Education (Inclusion) teacher at Wilson Middle School (Plano ISD, TX) responsible for delivering targeted instruction and accommodations for students with diverse learning needs. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines, reflect accommodations for individual student differences, and present subject matter in accordance with TEA policies. Collaborate with general and special education staff to modify curricula via IEPs, assess student learning, and use data to inform instructional decisions. Utilize technology to support instruction, manage a positive classroom environment, maintain documentation and records, and participate in staff development. Additional duties include supervising teacher aide(s) or volunteers, supporting extracurricular activities as assigned, and communicating effectively with students, parents, principals, and colleagues. Requires a Bachelor's Degree and Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, ESL certification for applicable roles, and Special Education certification for certain campuses; travel within the district may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- ESL Certification is required for Pre-K and elementary teaching positions, including Special Education (This requirement does not include elementary art, music, and physical education teachers.)
- Middle school English/Language Arts teaching positions, grades 6-8, including Special Education
- Special Education Certification is required for all teachers at an Early Childhood campus
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Experience: At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
- Demonstrate knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum and instruction
