Job Summary
The Teacher for Middle School ELAR at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School provides faith-centered instruction in line with the Archdiocese of San Antonio and Texas Education Agency guidelines. Responsibilities include developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning styles, assessing student achievement, supervising teacher aides and volunteers, and integrating technology to enhance learning. The role emphasizes fostering Gospel values, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to the Code of Conduct and Catholic school policies, supporting school mission and collaboration with staff, parents, and the wider school community. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, involvement in school activities, and ongoing professional development; weekend or evening work may be necessary. Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree, meet credentialing requirements, comply with Safe Environment and background screening, and be prepared to provide transcripts and certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 12 credit hours in education courses or state certificate
- Technology proficiency in education
- Demonstrated competency in the subject area(s)
- Must pass Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
- Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
- Must have good written and verbal skills
- Must upload transcripts and certifications
