Job Summary
Plan and teach multiple sections of high school mathematics, modifying district curriculum and utilizing appropriate learning activities. Execute instructional strategies informed by student data to address academic and social-emotional needs, while collaborating with department chairs, specialists, and families to support student growth. Manage student behavior, assess achievement, and maintain a positive classroom environment under the supervision of the building principal. This role supports Needham Public Schools' commitment to equity and cultural proficiency across its 5,500-student district.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Mathematics license at the appropriate level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with and/or teaching high school students
- an understanding of the needs of students at this age
- Collaborative work ethic
- Training/experience in the use of instructional technology
- Commitment to inclusive pedagogy
