Job Summary
The Teacher - Math will serve as a leave-cover teacher at Oswego High School, delivering mathematics instruction, including AP and Dual Credit opportunities, to align with district curriculum goals and instructional objectives. Responsibilities include planning and preparing lessons, applying content knowledge and pedagogy, differentiating for diverse learners, designing coherent instruction, developing aligned assessments, establishing a respectful and rigorous learning environment, managing classroom routines, engaging students through purposeful activities, providing timely feedback, communicating with families, and collaborating with colleagues to support student growth and professional practice.
Required Qualifications
- A valid/registered Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Mathematics Endorsement
- Recent teaching experience in the subject matter
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods and current teaching techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, team members, and others
- Interest in teaching AP
- Willingness to teach Dual Credit/College Credit courses
- Master's degree in content area preferred
