Job Summary
Develop and implement curriculum plans that accommodate individual student differences while presenting subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines. Employ varied instructional techniques and technologies to foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Assess student accomplishments regularly, provide progress reports, and maintain open communication with parents and community members. Create a conducive classroom environment, administer discipline per board policies, and supervise students before, during, and after school hours. Participate in faculty meetings, staff committees, and district professional development programs to support school improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through a TEA approved Teacher Certification Program
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress
- Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds
- Close vision

- Ability to stand
- Ability to move throughout the room and/or facility
- Ability to communicate verbally and electronically
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls

- Ability to climb or balance
- Must be able to work after school and weekends
- Occasionally required to travel to facilities within the district
