Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum, assess student achievement, and present material according to TEA guidelines. Plan and deliver math instruction, reflect accommodations for diverse learning styles, collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs, communicate with parents, supervise teacher aides/volunteers, and integrate technology to enhance instruction. Maintain classroom environment conducive to learning, manage behavior, participate in campus/district development, and pursue ongoing professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required for ELA, Reading and self-contained Special Education teaching assignments
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and adequately facilitate small and large group instruction
