Job Summary
A math teacher at Horizon High School (Thornton, CO) will plan, deliver, and assess instruction for a 9-month school-year with 40 hours/week (FTE 1.0). Responsibilities include planning and delivering instructional activities, creating a positive learning environment, meeting course and school-wide performance goals, participating in training, preparing and adjusting lesson plans, grading and administrative duties, staying current with educational topics, utilizing curriculum resources and technology to enhance learning, aligning objectives with district curricula, and communicating with parents. Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, Colorado educator license eligibility within 30 days, and a criminal background check. Preference for candidates with ELL/ESL or Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsements.
Required Qualifications

- Criminal background check required for hire
- Must possess, or be able to obtain from, or be in process with, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) for a valid Colorado Educator License within 30 days of hire
- Must possess the required license and endorsement. If highly qualified by content test or semester hours, with no endorsement: applicant must posses a Colorado educator license license with a passing score on a CDE approved content test or 24 semester hours in specific core content classes as determined by Human Resources
- Preference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement
