Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the district curriculum, adapting instruction to meet diverse student learning styles and needs. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing while managing classroom behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans and work cooperatively with instructional aides and volunteers to support student growth. Assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities, sponsor approved outside events, and serve as a positive role model supporting the school district's mission. Compile and maintain all required reports, records, and instructional materials while participating in faculty meetings and staff development activities. Maintain daily attendance and punctuality, adhering to state regulations, safety protocols, and the Texas Educator's Code of Ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
- Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Daily attendance and punctuality at work
