Job Summary
Long Term On-Site Substitute teacher provides high-quality, personalized education at a single school site when the regular classroom teacher is unavailable. Responsibilities include following established classroom systems, reinforcing college preparation for students, implementing lesson plans aligned with California State Standards and Aspire Guidelines, differentiating instruction, collaborating with Aspire team members, participating in professional development, communicating student progress to regular classroom teachers, maintaining accurate student records, coordinating with service providers, and scheduling coverage as prioritized by leadership. Strong knowledge of child development and learning styles, subject matter, assessments, data analysis, collaboration with families and community, and willingness to travel within a 45-minute radius are required. A Bachelor's degree and a Valid California Teaching Credential or Teaching Permit are required; prior experience in teaching or as a teaching assistant is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Valid California Teaching Credential or Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave in appropriate subject area
- 1+ year experience working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred
