Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating diverse student learning styles. Present subject matter, conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing, and modify curricula for special education students per Individual Education Plans. Manage student behavior, supervise teacher aides and volunteers, and utilize technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. Establish open communication with parents, students, and staff, and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and community members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
