Job Summary
Kindergarten through fifth-grade teaching role focused on planning and delivering instruction aligned to Virginia Standards of Learning, personalizing instruction, assessing student progress, and communicating with parents. Responsibilities include designing engaging learning experiences, monitoring behavior and safety, collaborating with colleagues and the community, supervising teacher assistants and volunteers, and contributing to the school’s professional learning community to deepen understanding of curriculum, content, and assessment. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and Virginia teaching license with endorsement, along with demonstrated knowledge of elementary content and effective teaching methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Holds or eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in appropriate subject area
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content, curriculum, and methodology of effective teaching
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills
- Physical requirements: Regular speaking, listening, and ability to move and lift up to 25 pounds as described
