Job Summary
Plans, designs, implements and assesses an instructional program for elementary students (Kindergarten–5th) using the Virginia Standards of Learning; personalizes instruction, assesses growth, and communicates with parents; may direct teacher assistants or volunteers to support an effective learning environment; collaborates with colleagues, students, parents, and the community to promote student learning; supports professional learning communities to deepen understanding of curriculum, assessment, and developmental needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Holds or eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in appropriate subject area
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content, curriculum, and methodology of effective teaching
