Job Summary
Educator to teach cognitive, social-emotional and motor skills to children with special needs in an early intervention day treatment setting; collaborate with licensed therapists (occupational, physical, and speech-language pathologists) and nurses to provide comprehensive care; participate in developmental screenings, therapy evaluations, testing, and coordination with families; classrooms are organized to address individual developmental needs for children from birth through kindergarten, with possible expansion to elementary-age students during summer months; require strong communication and organizational skills and ability to work with at-risk populations and their families.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree
- Current Arkansas Certification in Early Childhood Special Education
- A current Child Development Associate Certificate
- 12 hours of completed college courses in one of: early childhood, child development, special education/elementary education or child and family studies and documented experience in working with children with special needs
