Job Summary
Teacher to educate children with special needs in an early intervention day treatment setting. Responsibilities include teaching cognitive, social-emotional and motor skills across the day, coordinating with licensed therapists (occupational, physical, speech-language) and nursing staff, and collaborating with families to support development from birth to Kindergarten. Strong communication, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment, and comfort documenting progress and interacting with a diverse population of children and families are required.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree plus one of the following:
- Current Arkansas Certification in Early Childhood Special Education
- A current Child Development Associate Certificate
- 12 hours of completed college courses in one of the following areas-early childhood, child development, special education/elementary education or child and family studies and documented experience in working with children with special needs
- Prefer at least one year of successful experience in a classroom setting working with developmentally at-risk children or equivalent combination of education and experience.
