Job Summary
Provide instruction and assistance to enable students with hearing impairments to function in the least restrictive environment. Plan programs of instruction and develop/update IEPs for hearing-impaired students. Collaborate with classroom teachers, ARD committees, audiologists, and other specialists; install and instruct on specialized equipment; maintain pupil accounting records and travel logs; participate in district professional growth and teacher evaluation; perform SHARS-related duties and attend meetings to promote communication and mutual decision making. Must hold a bachelor's degree with state certification in deaf and hard of hearing and demonstrate knowledge of deaf education, regulatory requirements, assessment techniques, and effective instructional planning and communication, including sign language.
