Job Summary
Italian Teacher at Resurrection College Prep High School in Chicago, IL, responsible for delivering Italian language instruction and culture, from conversational fluency to literary and written expression. Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and ACTFL guidelines; design frameworks for AP Italian or upper-level courses; implement modern language acquisition methods (TPRS, task-based learning, communicative approaches) and integrate educational technology (Google Classroom, LMS). Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects, conduct formative and summative assessments (oral, written, performance), track student progress using rubrics and LMS analytics, provide timely feedback, and participate in conferences. Promote bilingual proficiency and cultural understanding, engage with families, and participate in professional development and PLCs to stay current with language instruction trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Italian, Education, or relevant field
- Proficiency in Italian (written & spoken)
- Classroom management proficiency with diverse student populations
Desired Qualifications
- ● Experience teaching high school Italian, including AP levels.
- ● Familiarity with ACTFL proficiency standards and bilingual education best practices.
- ● Previous exposure to interdisciplinary curriculum design and project-based learning.

- ● Valid secondary teaching certification in Italian.
