Job Summary
Conduct full-time early education for children experiencing homelessness in Roxbury, MA, implementing a dynamic, age-appropriate curriculum that promotes learning through play. Supervise children in the classroom while maintaining health and safety standards, managing transitions, and organizing activities for individual and small group learning. Communicate daily with parents to share progress and attend conferences, while collaborating with the team and Family Advocates to support healthy family relationships. Maintain an accurate PQ registry, complete 20 hours of annual professional development, and submit all required reports and records timely. This role requires EEC Teacher Certification, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, and at least one year of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate and solve problems using a team approach
- Supervision skills that focus on strengths, mutual respect, consistent feedback, professional growth, and inclusion
- Ability and willingness to handle all sensitive information confidentially
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Teacher Certification
- At least 9 months to 1 year or more of relevant work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with homeless children and their families, multi-ethnic urban families, or with children at risk
- 12 ECE Credits minimum preferred for EHS and HS classrooms
- Associate's and or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (ECE) or related field
