Required Qualifications

• •Degree(s) required in major area of study
• •Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
• •Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• •Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals consistent with the duties of this position
• •Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff and the public
• •Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry that are directly related to the duties of this position
• •Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations that are directly related to the duties of this position
• •Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• •Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• •Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program
• •Ability to plan and implement lessons based on district and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned
• •Demonstrates patience, respect, and understanding of students
• •Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility
• •Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents

• •Ability to assist the administration in compiling of teacher assignments for students assigned to in-school suspension
• •Ability to assist in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments, and behavior plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students
• •Ability to consult and collaborate with parents/guardians and the educational team regarding challenging behaviors and assist staff/families in creating and utilizing support for the classroom and home environment
• •Ability to assist the administration in implementing district rules and policies on students conduct, develop classroom universals on behavior and procedures, and assist in maintenance of classroom management in the classroom
• •Ability to supervise students
• •Ability to stand and talk or hear
• •Ability to occasionally walk and sit
• •Ability to occasionally push or lift to 50 lbs
• •Ability to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff
• •Ability to use close vision such as reading handwritten or typed material
